Checked the pressure switch and it is OK. It was full of crud so i cleaned it out. Went round and checked all the connections and all were secure. turned it on and got an F6. going to try and wire up the valve at the weekend and will keep you posted.

Thanks for the advice it's much appreciated. A wee question, how do i hot wire the valve? and as for the pressure switch i can get hold of a multimeter, but for testing the pressure switch what do i do. I'm not an electrical engineer so any direction would be appreciated.

Also checked with the building control for my council and they have said that all they require is the gas work to be done by a competent person. and as for the gas certificate, the installer is going to get this done for me. Thanks again for all the advice.

Tony, No I'm not paying him. The problem is that he did the instal as a home job, and when he is trying to sort the problem the Sime lines are closed. Yes he is Gas Safe Registered, but is relativley young (early 20's).
