    Jammed shootbolt

The very same :D ....and it was way over £30  so espag here we come. I don't mind what's fitted as long as it keeps the wind and the bugglers out. Although it is a first floor window and if they can find anything valuable it won't be mine  Thanks to everyone for all the help.

    Jammed shootbolt

The one rod I removed is threaded all the way and it's held and adjusted by screwing it into a section of the moulding which slides. As it was loose I don't know how it attached to the lock, and I haven't worked out how the remaining rod and lock come out......I think, probably, the rod screws...

Hi :D The way this is going I suspect I will be hanging out of the window supported by a rope round my neck Ha Ha  Seriously though...I can't see any screws under the window, only one at each end which seem to hold the corner piece in place where the shootbolt comes through, unless there...

    Jammed shootbolt

One of the shootbolts in my upstairs d/g window is jammed and the handle wont work properly. The window is slightly open which is a nuisance but I dare not shut it in case it wont open again. What's the most likely cause and the easiest fix. It's hinged at the top. How do I get at the...

    immersion element length

That's the problem. Without removing the element I don't know the size but if picasso is right then it's a 27" element because I replaced the stat last week and that was 18". It's on E7 and has a horstman controller which gives a choice of a one or two hour boost but I don't know about a dual...

Hi..I have just moved to an all electric property which has an immersion heater-- the original thermostat kept tripping so I bought a new one and it's OK now. My problem is that I only get a small amount of hot water before it runs cold...having a bath with more than 2 inches of water is out...

    adjust front door hinges

For some reason my front upvc door has decided not to latch. It looks like the door needs to move a mm or two as it's not centred...I have bodged it temporarily by packing the latch plate. I think it has jocker hinges and I googled the adjustment but i'm worried about cocking it up. Any advice...
