    PIR switch issues

There are two settings. One for time and one with a light bulb, which I had assumed was so that it only lights up when is dark. I cannot see a sensitivity one. I suppose I will have to get used at waving... Thanks

    PIR switch issues

Hi, I am having problems with PIR switches. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or I misunderstood how they work. I installed one in the ceiling of a 4x2m storage room. When I walk under the detector, the light switches on as intended, but it turns off shortly after with me in the room...

Condensation under toilet looking like a leak?

Hi Ian, I have the exact same problem. I have water coming from under the toilet. It is not a leak from anywhere. I have tested it. the water runs towards the back, which is the only part without silicone as it is a back to wall toilet. It has gone in to the mdd unit and it has damaged it... I...

Thanks Eric! That is great, and saves me having to change the box and making a bigger hole. I will look in to that grid system

    spur off a spur solution?

Both cables are 2.5mm². The dual box with an FCU fused at 13A and a single socket as TTC suggests seems the way to go. Do you know if there are any brands that sell that already made as a single plate for a 2 gang box? otherwise upgrading to a dual box should not be an issue Thanks!

    spur off a spur solution?

Hi, I found a spur of a spur in my house while refurbishing the kitchen.... I think this could be easily fixed. There was a double socket that I removed. There is one wire coming down from the main ring (white). Wired on to it there was another spur with more recent cable (grey). That one goes...

    Moving toilet soil pipe

Thanks for pointing that. "Bends in branch pipes should be avoided "if possible". Where they cannot they should have as large a radius as possible" Technically it is possible to pass the pipes under the ceiling across the garage, but it is far from ideal... I Think I will do it with large radius...

    Moving toilet soil pipe

He did not have a good reason for it as far as I could see it... Not sure if he just could not be bothered adding two more elbows o_O

    Moving toilet soil pipe

One is saying there should not be a drop in the middle of the run, and that it should go straight across in to the stalk (under the rafters, on the ceiling garage).

    Moving toilet soil pipe

Hi everyone! I am moving a toilet across a room. I have had conflicting opinions from two plumbers about soil pipe routing. I upload a dodgy sketch to explain. In the circle is the current toilet and vent pipes which are boxed. I need to remove the toilet and all the pipes in that wall. For the...

Arditex NA vs. Level IT two vs others?

Hi guys, I am new to the forum (and to DIY in general!). I am refurbishing a 1950s Bungalow. I have a total of 50 square meters of floor that need leveling. the big room is 30 m2 and will be covered with laminate and the smaller area is 20 m2 and will be tiled. At the moment there is about 50%...
