    No, the last radiator was quite tricky with the pipes, so by the time that was done it was quite late, so he is coming back as he was aware of the issue before he left.

    Thanks for the replies, yes when I turn the stopcock off the cold does go off, I think I will probably have to change the tap, the flexi-pipe needs to be turned/twisted to get it onto the mixer tap, unless there's another way?

    Both pipes are coming from the lift area, so I think they are both gravity, but to be honest not too sure.
