I have just changed a bulb from the conventional filament to an energy saving bulb. The light flashes on and off so I changed the switch and fitting and it still does this. I then changed back to a normal bulb and all works fine! I have tried a couple of different wattage energy saving bulbs...

I have a Honeywell 4200 which I want to replace with a Honeywell CM907. Looking at the old therostat there are 3 wires on points 1 2 & 3. The diagram in the thermostat shows 1 as live, 2 Neutral and 3 underload. If I put a curcuit tester on 1 and 2 I get 240V with the bolier on and no current...
