    Any hope lighting circuit?

Studied the wiring diagrams to understand what was going on, looked at the pictures of the changes to be made and plucked up the courage to give it a go. For the first time in 8 years, I finally have an outdoor light! After checking the changes worked, I removed the brown sleeves on the...

    Any hope lighting circuit?

Having never drawn anything like that before, looking at the way others have drawn it is definitely easier to understand! - every day is a school day! If I'm interpreting 'switch drop to each end' correctly, that was the way I'd understood it. Thanks again to everyone, massively appreciate...

    Any hope lighting circuit?

You're all true gentlemen (and ladies? - don't want to presume!) for the advice. I think the fact there's hope means I might get a professional in to tackle it as I don't want to mess anything up. Thanks for all the advice - greatly appreciated! P.s. @Sureitsoff? - spare screws removed

    Any hope lighting circuit?

Attached photos of the two light roses and the other switch. As far as I can tell (rudimentary continuity test) the wire from outside twin + earth is literally that.

That was what I was worried about... is there any way of getting one?

    Any hope lighting circuit?

Too much and too little - trying to be helpful, but obviously missed the mark! Engineer by trade but by no means an electrician! I've added some photos of the three-gang switch - as both @FrodoOne and @Adam_151 have asked, they're definitely on the same circuit - all lights downstairs are on...

    Any hope lighting circuit?

Hi all, after 8 years of having a house extension done I've got round to buying and installing an outdoor light. The wire to outside was put in when the extension was done and terminated in a three-gang switch. Two switches control internal lights (on 2-way switching) and the third was there to...

Kitchen Extension & Worrying Joist Query

Well building control confirmed my fears today and basically said the gaps will need to be filled to pass building regs. the guy I spoke to on the phone was surprised the inspector didn't pick up on it last week but said they'll make a point of checking next time. I spoke to the project...

Kitchen Extension & Worrying Joist Query

I think I'll give my builder a call tomorrow to see what he has to say and if I don't get anywhere, I'll give building control a call on Monday. Thank you all for your comments.

Kitchen Extension & Worrying Joist Query

Apologies for not putting up more photos, but I was at work and didn't have access to any more. I'm at home now (at the furthest point away from the death wall!). Here's a pic I took today, looking from the inside out - you can clearly see the joists & wall balanced precariously on top...

Kitchen Extension & Worrying Joist Query

Hello all, I'm a new member to the forum, but have found it a great source of information over the past year having taken on a personal house renovation & extension project. I've done as much work as I possibly can on the renovation side of things, but now it's come to the extension I've got...
