Is there a temporary solution so I can light the pilot?

Potterton puma 80 pilot gone moody, does not burn sometimes. I keep the knob pressed for upto a minute but it does not catch fire. But once it catches fire and starts working, it would work fine for a day or two or three but then will switches off itself and the same problem repeats. Any help...
