I dont know of any valve heads that are interchangeable with other brands. Usually the valve bodies are roughly the same size though so swapping the whole thing shoulnt require pipework alterations

No need to support the waste behind the ped no. The hot and colds may need it depending on where they come from. If you're in a new build with speedfit sticking out the floor behind the ped, it'll want clipping somehow. If its copper (particularly if they're coming out of the wall half way up...

Hes right. A flip waste or spring loaded mushroom waste are much better. All PUW with the rod going through the tap are pretty crap

Is the ball valve to the toilet plastic? Could it be linked to the noise? Sounds like too much of a coincidence not to be. Plastic BVs often give out horrendous noises

I think the first thing we do when installing a new PUW is to throw half the gaskets and rubbers away and use silicone.
