Stubborn builder fit backboxes flush with plaster, can't fit sockets in.

Ideally the back box should be flush with the wall surface so that the face plate is snug to the back box as otherwise it does not provide the containment it should. I would fit a 25mm back box as standard unless the customer said they wanted flat plate. I really think that sometimes...

    Replacing radiators for underfloor heating.

The boilers pump will handle the rads and between boiler and ufh manifold. The ufh manifold pump will pump water around the ufh circuits. Zone valves control weather either or both the rads and ufh get heat. Be aware that the ufh may suffer when the boiler is producing alot of hotwater...

    Replacing radiators for underfloor heating.

Rubbish. Done properly it's very good, the problem is that few installers and fewer users really understand it. Ive got underfloor in my bathroom and youngests bedroom. It works spot on and keeps the rooms very comfortable. Ive installed it for alot of customers and without exception they...

    Replacing radiators for underfloor heating.

Underfloor heating will never work properly when though of or treated like a radiator. It usually takes a correctly designed system a good couple of hours to get to temperature. If you zone it with the radiators it will never work properly.

    Water Leak underneath my property

If it's a common supply then you can't isolate just your section to test, which makes excavation the only real way to be sure. I had a similar issue with UU a while back where they said a sewer thT ran through my property, but didn't take my drains was my responsibility to repair. I told...

    Water Leak underneath my property

The question I would be asking is how an excavation in a neighbouring property has conclusively prooved anything other than the leak is not in that property. By way of a report that letter is a joke. No photographs, and no static pressure test results. If you have an external stop tap its...

    Sparks from electric shower !!!!!!

Would put money on the neutrals being loose on the terminals. A picture of it all in situ would be more helpful.

Pls give an advice : overheating boiler? flue duct very hot

A flue on that boiler getting to that temperature is NOT NORMAL. Melting wires is NOT NORMAL. You clearly have no idea what you are doing, so stop poking around inside something that can kill you / your family / your neighbours and get a professional in to fix the problem. Yes we all have...

    Scrap metal licence 2013

The key is its stock not scrap. I got a pull last year with a van full of old copper and lead. When they decided to book me for having no carriers licence, I explained how every bit was re usable and if need be I would take my tools into court and demonstrate my case. I think they decided the...

    Good idea.......

That's going to be really helpful for a 3m x 600 double double. Many radiators will be too heavy to lift off when full of water. Stupid idea imho

    Alternative accumulator Worcester 24i

What on earth are you on about ? Do you mean the expansion vessel inside the boiler ? Perhapse the pressure releif valve ? If you mean what I think you mean STOP. Plastic within 1m of the boiler and nrv's on expansion vessels are both big no no's.
