there is a difference, not much but a difference. Day lights go left right left right etc, when strobe output turned on middle light wakes up and all 3 flash at same time. not a proper strobe but bright enough and never had any complaints, customers seem to like them. i like the chrome lids...

look at using hkc sabb, great bell boxes. i only ever fit these. you can gett them from security warehouse.com
