    It doesn't just need the pump turning round the other way, it needs re-piping and re-wiring - get someone decent in to do the job! You've just paid for someone to install you a new decent boiler - treat it to a decent system to work with or it'll keep refusing to work.

    Sorry, it's an Ideal ISAR HE24. Thanks for the diagnostic, but 2 separate engineers can't give the same incorrect diagnostic, surely.

    Sorry, I didn't replace it myself, I just know they changed it all. I found the report and it says "Changed old brown wiring to new PVCU grey cabling". Existing CU is 6 fuses, all existing sockets are affixed to skirting board and are in plastic enclosures.

    Thanks for that. I guess a trough in a concrete floor would be easier (and thus cheaper) than running up on brick wall, across the top and down the other. I just didn't know whether it was possible - I guess it needs to be installed to a certain depth and have some kind of protection on top...

    At the moment, the gas pipe comes into the front of the property, straight into the lounge and ends behind the fire. Back boiler lives there. Now I'm wondering about having a combi installed, but that of course means extra pipework. Lounge is suspended flooring, so I guess it could go under...
