    Thank you SGM! You're a marvel. I've sorted it and have hot water again! Out of interest, is it a difficult job to fit a new knob to the joint/valve, or does the whole assembly need to be changed? Thank you x

    I have the same problem right now. This evening, I filled the bath for my son, then about 1/2 hour later I noticed the house was getting cold and rads were cooling down. I first went to my boiler (Vailant Ecotec) to check the pressure. It was a little low - at about 1 bar so I opened both...
