    No hot water

The reason I ask is because I'm the kind of guy that likes to understand how things work, I find it somewhat entertaining. The reason I want to control these temps individually is because I want my radiators to be piping hot, but I don't want to burn my hands when I wash them.

    No hot water

Oh so I can't control the rad water temp and the tap water temps individually? Should the water being heated be set at the same temp as the stat on the tank? I don't see why there are two controls for the same tank of water. Why not just have the one on the tank?

    No hot water

Can I still set the water temp and rad temp independently? There's another stat on the cylinder. Which stat controls what?

    No hot water

Yes it's definitely a boiler, it's a Glowworm. The model is nowhere to be seen on the case though. It looks the same as this.

    No hot water

There is a temp control on the front of my boiler, it has a little radiator symbol on it, I gather this sets the temp of the rads? I turned it all the way down, and now I have no hot water. Has this boiler been installed incorrectly?

    Peugeot 207 Radiator Leak

Yup, I think it was my fault to be honest. It was a relatively new thermostat, so it would have had plenty of life left in it, but because I didn't bleed the air out of the system properly, the plastic probably melted and weakened...and snapped! I found a great method of filling the system...

    Peugeot 207 Radiator Leak

I guess I'll just crack that bleed screw, then start the engine, then wait for the pressure to build, as it does the air should escape, and eventually coolant should come out.

    Peugeot 207 Radiator Leak

The Peugeot 207 expansion tank is the highest point on the system so need to mess around with chopping up 2L Coke bottles etc. I can't find any other information really on how to properly fill this system, Google doesn't help, forums are usually my last resort.

    Peugeot 207 Radiator Leak

Still having some issues, the coolant temp gauge doesn't get to operating temp, it bobs up and down a little at around 70-80, but doesn't get to 90 and stay there. The heaters are hot, but not quite as hot as they were before. Do you think I might still have air in the system? How hard can it be...

    Peugeot 207 Radiator Leak

Yes I will keep an eye on it. In the picture, if you look to the left of the oil filter housing there is a black cylindrical shaped thing with a pipe sticking out of the bottom of it, it is this device that has some sort of bleed nipple on that I was referring to. Think I might buy myself a...

    Peugeot 207 Radiator Leak

Yes you are right it was indeed an air lock. I did see a bleed cap on a chunk of metal, but I wasn't sure what it was so left it alone. I ended up taking the car for a short drive and then just left it for half an hour, the water level in the expansion tanked dropped, I had to repeat this...

    Peugeot 207 Radiator Leak

Just checked the seal inside, it isn't an O ring as such, but the inside of that connector is all made from a rubber like material. It looked a little dirty so I cleaned it out, but now I have a bigger problem. When I disconnected that bottom hose, all of the water drained from the system, after...

    Peugeot 207 Radiator Leak

Thanks for that John, I think I will try and get a new hose, it's likely that the connector was damaged the last time I had the car in for a new thermostat. It was getting a little dark earlier so didn't have chance to inspect, but I assume your right, it has probably been yanked off, I managed...

    Peugeot 207 Radiator Leak

I don't think it's a bayonet connector, here's some pictures. This is the culprit. It's the same connector as this one. Here is the rad where it connects to. The hose runs from the bottom of the rad to the expansion tank, what does it even do?

    Peugeot 207 Radiator Leak

Radiator seems to empty itself in drips and drabs over a couple of weeks until its empty. So today I figured I'd go buy a new one after seeing it leaking at petrol station. I tried my hand at the replacement and it was surprisingly easy. Sadly, when putting the new one in, after filling her up...

    Plaster smooth or no?

I ended up just painting directly on the plaster, the roughness disappeared after a few coats. It's matte paint. Looks fine. Sieve worked well.
