    Howdens Decorative Kitchen Plinth

Hi, the kitchen fitting manual and also the instruction sheet within the plinth pack does not account for fitting between or up to decor end panels. The answer is that the you will need to trim the rail that screws to the underside of the cabinets else the decor plinth will sit proud of the...

Kitchen base units off plumb - help please!

Hi, thanks for the advice. I’ve measured one 600mm base unit and that appears to be out by 3.5mm between the 2 diagonals. Next question is how to square up, they are pre assembled units? Thanks Steve

Kitchen base units off plumb - help please!

Hi, after spending some time levelling new kitchen base units to the same height and all level L-R and F-B, the sides are a little off plumb (spirit level and frame square confirm). What am I doing wrong here as it’s driving me potty? Howdens units with 4 adjustable legs. Your help would be...

    Howdens Decorative Kitchen Plinth

Thanks for the swift reply, the issue I have is that the decorative plinth (which sits flush with the doors) is of an ogee style so would need the bottom edge trimmed. Would neat PVA or silicon be best here?

    Howdens Decorative Kitchen Plinth

Hi, has anyone out there ever fitted Howdens decorative kitchen plinth? It comes as 180mm height which then makes the overall worktop height above the max height adjustment of a range cooker. Height to top of base unit (with 180mm plinth) - 900mm plus worktop - 30mm = 930mm. Options - trim and...

Front door & door jam trimming

Hi I bought a second hand victorian door 80"x30" but it's depth is about 3/8" greater than the old one. Does anyone know if the shaped door jambs on the existing original frame would be removable as they look like they are part of the frame? If not could they be timmed in situe? I was...

    External wiring help needed urgently.

You may not have to buy new cable depending on what is connected to your new fitting as these should be ok to fit to the connector block assuming it's in a good enough condition and you are able to undo the screws. Make sure that any connections are again covered in insulation tape and covered...

    Fireplace

Hi, I'm new to this site so please bear with me. I've taken out an 60's fireplace and hearth. What I'd like to do is set in a new slate hearth (we have a hardwood floor over the original boards), fit a new wooden mantelpiece and retain the ability to have a coal fire. The fireback is intact...
