    Soakway for carport

Thank you for your help. I got thru to the BCO and they agree that I can connect to the drain that takes the roof water. He agreed that soakway not a good idea under the circumstances. I also remember now that two houses hv put in a new front drive(Permeable? ) and they both slope towards the...

    Soakway for carport

Thank you Hugh. I really do feel that putting in a soakway will not be good in the long run. I tried to contact BCO today unsuccessfully. Will try again 2moro. I'm sure common sense will prevail. I've not found our council unreasonable to date. Thank you. Will let u know how this concludes. Shree

    Soakway for carport

Thank you Hugh and Doggit. I'm thinking of I put in one blue soakway crate, would it create any long term problems to the house considering that it is always raining in this country and water may not hv sufficient time to drain.

    tree growing in gully!!!!

Hi John.yes scaffolders finally took it away. Even Age UK were amazed by their rudeness to their personnel. Of course they were ignored too. wonder whether this happens all the time? They took it away only when they needed it for another job. Had absolutely no consideration for us but what...

    tree growing in gully!!!!

Hi John. Thank you. I had such fun and games today and so satisfying. The hammer missed the chisel on several occasions. My left hand has changed colour! also hammer landed on the tile lining of the gully, chipped it as you can see in the photo. Didn't know how to use chisel so I hammered it...

    tree growing in gully!!!!

I had a thought. If the water ran off the drive way then by clearing the drain may b I'll make matters worse if the gully can't drain due to the roots. I'll pour water into it to see if it drains. Will keep you posted. Shree

My husband has said in the past that we have soakaway in the back garden. There is no indication as to its location. There are two manholes. One by the side of the house which I know is for foul water from toilet (had blocked toilet once). Then there's is another one to the front of house nr...
