    Damp bricks above dpc internal outside wall

    Well i took the damp bricks out and it was packed solid with sand, rubble etc. The insulation is dry, but im now left with a gap where there is none. Has anyone got any suggestions on what to do with this? I was worried about the cold spot causing condensation.

    thanks, yeah i don't think i will bother unless i use aerogel but like you say very pricey. i assume most on here would say a floating chipboard floor is poor in comparison to a solidfloor.

    Im looking at ways to insulate my floor. Currently there is about 30mm screed. Would laying multifoil insulation over the top of this work? How about digging up the screed and then laying celotex with a chipboard flooring? Im hoping someone has some experience of this.

    Thanks chaps I had no joy in finding any ready made ones. I removed one of the door linings and it seems that the bottom part was joined to the top part with a dovetail joint i think. So i will probably do the same.

    My existing door lining go from floor to ceiling and have borrowed light/fan lights above the door. Can you buy these extra tall door lining s from anywhere? If not can i use a normal height one and then make up something for the windows? Any suggestions? Will it look a bit crap with the join?
