Turning the Heating off stops the CH Pump

The crazy thing about this whole saga is the fact that this has passed several BG Annual inspections with the wiring like this. I even called them out to rectify the problem, but they were more interested in safety checking the boiler and getting it through its annual inspection. Oh well...

Turning the Heating off stops the CH Pump

Guess what? :D For the first time in I don't know how many years I can have the heating on without HW ON and more importantly the boiler not sounding like it is about to explode! A Massive thank you to everyone that contributed towards sorting this out. Cheers guys!

Turning the Heating off stops the CH Pump

[/img] OK Finally managed to upload a Pic. Apologies for the quality of picture, but it was a bit tight in the airing cupboard:) The flex's on the bottom from left to right are: CYL STAT FLEX (LEFT) - 3 Way Motorised valve flex (middle) - Pump Flex (RIGHT) As you can see the pump...

Turning the Heating off stops the CH Pump

Thanks. I'll get some wiring pictures up. From what I can see the pump live goes in to two wires which go downstairs. These two wires are Red and Blue (with a small red sheath). The red wire I take to be the Pump Live. The blue (with red sheath) goes to the HTG NO on the programmer. (I...

Turning the Heating off stops the CH Pump

The pump stops running. The circulation is fine. As I say if I wire the pump live to a permanent live everything runs as it should except I don't want to leave it like that as I don't think it would be wise to have the pump running all the time. Something just cuts the pump out when I turn...

Turning the Heating off stops the CH Pump

Yes, that is correct. When there is call for HW the boiler stays on. It's only when I turn the Heating off at the programmer the pump stops and the boiler continues to run and yes it sounds like the boiler is about to blow up because the boiler is producing hot water, but there is no circulation...

Turning the Heating off stops the CH Pump

Another symptom of this issue is the boiler is constantly on and off when there is a call for heat, so it takes ages for the rads to heat up. When the HW is calling the boiler stays on continuously (as it should do) Bizzare. :?:

Turning the Heating off stops the CH Pump

Just checked. HW only selected. Cylinder Stat up = The Pump is Live. It's when the HTG is OFF and the HW is on the pump turns off the problems start. Thanks.

Turning the Heating off stops the CH Pump

Hi, Just wondering if someone could help me with a possible CH wiring issue I have. The problem is the CH pump turns OFF when the Heating is turned OFF even if the the Hot Water is turned ON. When both the HTG and HW are on the pump runs fine and the boiler runs fine. When I turn the HTG...
