Does Heat Resistant Glass Stop the Suns Rays Coming in?

On a sunny day, stand under one of your panes of glass. If you can feel the warmth on your skin, the infra red (heat) is getting through. If not, it's not.

    Manhole problem

I need to raise a cast iron manhole cover. It's the access to our septic tank which is only a few inches below surface. The frame is very seriously mortared onto onto the very iffy and rather crumbly concrete of the tank itself which looks to be original (1940s house). The concrete looks to...

Should my doors smell of urine?

The smell will disappear once dry. It may be easier to remove any remnants of paint from beading etc before they dry out completely, usually a scraper gently run along any grooves in beading etc will have it off easily. Finding the right radiator...

Just in case anyone is interested, I eventually found what I was looking for in a stainless steel model that can be mounted vertically or horizontally and so has a standard tapping in each corner. Going to be installing it in the new year.

Hmm not sure that hotrods will work with a convection/gravity system though? I think my best bet is to go for a stainless radiator maybe?

Adding heat sink radiator to direct hot water tank?

Hi everyone. I've been reading this site a lot on and off, and thought it is about time I signed up - so go easy on my 1st post. I suspect it is a bit controversial, but I'm a hardcore DIYer so wondered if you all might be able to help: I've got a woodburner with a back boiler, connected...
