It doesn;t stop when you open it. It sounds as though it is coming from the back of the fridge/freezer. I don't think it was left unplugged after transportation...my landlord installed it whilst I was at work and it was plugged in when I got home in the evening.

Sadly this didn;t make a difference. The annoying sound continues...

Yesterday, the humming noise went on for approx an hour at a time. It was only installed yesterday so really is brand new.
