    Boiler choice

Quite a lot of the modern shower heads I've been looking at are restricted to 9.5lpm

    Boiler choice

The flow rate will change, the storage combi will use the stored water to give you a higher flow rate of hot water than it can deliver on its own! My 222f will give 20l/s until the store is depleted and then it'll fall back to the standard rate

no water from a thermostatic mixer shower

The pump will purely increase the pressure and flow to the shower. It'll need to be fitted inline from the tanks to the shower. The small header tank in the loft may need to be increased as well, that will soon run out with a pump

    Boiler choice

As above, check your main incoming flow rate and dynamic pressure. Easy to do with a bucket and pressure guage. I'm in the process of having a Viessmann 222f installed, looks like a really good piece of kit that'll deliver 20 lpm of 60 degree water as it stores 130 litres in the bottom, once...

    Expansion Vessel Needed?

I've got a pressure reducing valve with an integrated check valve and pressure relief valve which has a connection point for an expansion vessel but the plumber hasn't fitted one. There is about 2m of plastic pipe between this and the new storage combi. Will the pressure relief valve save...

    Viessmann 222f advice

Viessmann state a peak flow of 20lpm giving 200 litres in the first 10 minutes, that's at 60 degrees! I think this should handle 2 showers at the same time when it's blended down which makes me lean towards the 22mm

    Viessmann 222f advice

Thanks for the reply Tony, the dynamic flow from my old 1/2" main is 32lpm at 1.5bar The second engineer was willing to install 22mm if I wanted. How much water does 3.5m of 22mm pipe hold? From that I can work out how long it would take to get hot water out of a basin mixer and see if...

    Viessmann 222f advice

We're looking to have one of these installed and have had a couple of quotes. One plumber suggests using 22mm from the DHW outlet (stepped up) as this will help with the flow when using more than one outlet. The other says that as the boiler has a 15mm outlet that 15mm will be fine and...

    Worth having communication pipe upgraded?

Thanks for all your help before! We're finally at the stage of overlaying the main feed in 32mm MDPE. I've contacted Secern Trent about upgrading the meter size and there's 2 options 22mm and 30mm which threw me! Does a 30mm meter take 28mm pipe? I've got to get the pipe work ready for...

Viessmann Weather Compensation and Separate Zones UFH

Sorry to drag this thread out of its grave! I'm looking at installing a very similar system in my house. Viessmann Vitodens 200w System boiler, Vitocell200 300l unvented cylinder and the HO1B weather compensation. Downstairs we're looking to install polyplumbs overlay UFH which is installed...

Bath pipe size for unvented hot water

From what I've read you'd be best sticking to 22mm for the flow.

Central Heating Conversion Which should I choose

If you think 2k is expensive don't bother looking at a wood pellet boiler! They're silly money, need filling and emptying and can obviously run out which could be inconvenient!

cooling computers and heating water / thermal store??

Sounds like a nice idea in principle but I can imagine it being an expensive nightmare to implement. Computer water cooling already exists as do the cooling blocks that need to sit on the chips but the piping is small and runs on small dc pumps with a special coolant. You'd need to marry this to...
