    Ah ok i'm with you now, couldn't find the old rubber adapter that I had so got a new one coming from ebay and will pick up a proper jubilee clip, and use a little silicon sealant/glue to help it stay. It should hold, its not exactly massive amounts of pressure it has to deal with, I just want...

    Cheers guys, I did try one of them in the past but it wasn't very good leaked a lot when used with a pressure washer /hose adapters, may even still be in the house somewhere. Mighty try it combined with some silicon sealant as well, and a proper jubile clip.

    Sorry it was very poorly written, this is what i have to work with in the photo, I can't screw on a not hozelock type adapter on to use a hose since 1/2 is too tight 5/8,3/4 to big, the hose is to wash binroom, my car etc so needs to a good strong fit...

    Hi folks, I wonder if you can help me, I live in a small block of flats around 40-45 years old, in the bin room there is a short pipe with a stopcock on the end of it and thats it. the tap is marked 1/2", since the old bodge of a load of plumbers putty on it didn't last long to get a hose...
