This may sound a daft question but why do single pumps even exist if both hot and cold need to be pumped. I understand that with manual mixers the temp is more difficult to control but if it did solve the problem it would be cheaper than buying a new pump. Please excuse my ignorance...

Many thanks for the advice. So if I get them back to get it to just pump the shower should they still get it to just pump the hot supply (to the shower) and if so wouldn't it still be unequal and we'd still have the same problem?

Good point the hot water supply now has far more pressure than the cold. What problems will this cause with the mixer shower mate?
