    Pyronix Enforcer sms question

The KX12DT is the standard 12 metre range dual tech whereas the KX10DTP is a 10 metre "pet tolerant" model. It's designed to leave a dead area above floor level so that an animal can wander freely without triggering it. However it wouldn't be much use if your dog/cat likes to leap onto the...

    Pyronix Enforcer sms question

You should be able to tell the difference between the standard PIR & dualtech as the dualtech is bulkier & will flash the LED differently signalling the PIR & microwave indication. Also if you pop the lid off, the Pyronix dualtech has two batteries rather than the one of the PIR

    MK Sentry RCBO Fault

They confirmed it to me but said I'd have to wait for an official announcement

    MK Sentry RCBO Fault

One of the boards I swapped to MK was because of constant Chint RCBO failures. Would pass all testing on the MFT but when pressing the test button would just chatter then pop & smoke!

    MK Sentry RCBO Fault

Yeah MK wouldn't confirm whether it was only 6A RCBO's or whether there were any with serial numbers I was not aware of. The serial numbers I've found out about are F1534 to F1552 and F1601 to F1602. The ones I had were in that range. Until I can find something official from MK however I'm...

    MK Sentry RCBO Fault

Not sure if anyone has further information on this but I'm getting nowhere with MK tech department. I did a CU change recently & fully populated it with MK Sentry RCBOs - all tested ok. I've returned a short while later to complete some works & while testing found all 3 of the B6 RCBO's were...

Replace Garage CU on existing supply cable - calcs check

Regarding RCD's, yes the circuit feeding the garage is RCD protected in the house. However it's an old Wylex NN split load board so a fault in the garage will take out half of the house (don't suppose you can get an RCBO to fit this). I'd rather have it trip the garage only.

Replace Garage CU on existing supply cable - calcs check

Hi Not sure the 11.65V should make the lights fail (in this instance). Perhaps if the supply voltage was at exactly 230V, but in this instance I believe (but will recheck) it's more like 254V measured. With regard to design current I've taken the full 16A of the radial MCB but used actual...

Replace Garage CU on existing supply cable - calcs check

Thanks John Had a look around regarding zdb & found a lot of discussion/argument/confusion on other forums as to what should be recorded & how the result should be obtained. As I understand (or possibly don't!): For the distribution circuit in the house CU, either: a - carry out a...

Replace Garage CU on existing supply cable - calcs check

Thanks for the responses. Testing - The replacement radial & lights have been temporarily reconnected to the existing CU. As this was to be replaced immenently, currently i've only carried out the dead testing - continuity, polarity, insulation resistance. Polarity has been checked again...

Replace Garage CU on existing supply cable - calcs check

Hi I've recently been carrying some work out on a friends house. I've rewired a radial circuit & lights in the garage back to the existing CU. This could do with replacing as it is an old unit with rewireable fuses, one of the carriers cannot be fastened back properly exposing the busbar if...
