Opposite of pressure reducing valve ?

We did have a new service pipe installed 107meters long. It was put in by moling- they dug 6 pits in total about 3ft by 2ft by 4ft deep and the mole went from pit to pit dragging in the new pipe. Went from 6 litres per minute at about 3 bar to 35 litres per minute at 8 bar. Blew all the washers...

Replaced two Radiators, been told we now need to replace pipes feeding radiators…

Closing the lockshield down sounds wrong to me. If the input is 58 and the output is 32 then surely there is too little water flow through the radiator as it is radiating away 26 degrees by the time it leaves. I would think opening the lockshield valve would allow the water to get from the input...

Opposite of pressure reducing valve ?

I think you need an accumulator, it's a tank rather than a valve https://www.plumberparts.co.uk/interactive-house/water-accumulator/

    Vaillant VR33 external wiring question

I currently have a Vaillant 937 controlled by a Tado V3+ system using ebus. I have bought a new Tado X system which only does opentherm or relay control. I have purchased a VR33 module and have already done a test fit and proved it works changing the V3+ to talk opentherm rather than ebus. I am...

Advice please on burying cables in the garden.

I'll cap the ends until they get used and then fashion something that silicones on and around the cable (I'll be using smaller ducting than 110mm) As long as cables are black and neat I'll be fine seeing them - I think that comes from my job :D

Advice please on burying cables in the garden.

@DetlefSchmitz Good info, I would love to be able to bring the ducts up indoors unfortunately the DB is in the kitchen which has a blown concretr over red ash floor which is going to have to be dug out at some point. Plan for next years rewire include getting the meter moved outside and...

Advice please on burying cables in the garden.

@ban-all-sheds Thanks for the link, having had a look I'll put a blue one in as well so that I can leave a hosepipe down at the gooserun. Am I okay just having the ducts pop up out of the ground touching the walls?

Advice please on burying cables in the garden.

@bernardgreen Thankyou so much for that - the vacuum cleaner tip is absolute genius, I'd already been wondering how to do that - drain rods etc. I think I'll go for the electrical duct as I always prefer things to be done properly. Cheers for the excellent advice

Wiring a Manrose in line extractor fan

As an alternative fit a humidistat controlled fan - I have a Manrose one in my bathroom window which replaced a pull-cord operated one that my wife never remembered to turn on. If you get up for a pee in the night it won't come on, however when you have a shower it comes on automatically as the...

Advice please on burying cables in the garden.

@bernardgreen Thanks for your quick response. I shall check with the plant installers to confirm they are using conduit. At the installers request I have already paid building control ready for the inspection before the trench gets filled so I'm sure they will do it correctly. The wiring in...

Advice please on burying cables in the garden.

We plan on having our Edwardian house totally rewired next year however we are about to have the septic tank replaced with a powered sewage treatment plant and while the terrace and lawn have large trenches dug in them that run from outside the wall that has the DB on it, under the 3ft wall at...
