job done, used the rest of the rods and worm hook to go thru other drain and push round corner then took plunger off at manhole and pulled rods thru !!

andy yes 4" plunger on and no rod breakage , just gonna attempt again today

got a problem with my drain rods ! plastic drain runs under house and from first rodding point all went well on a straight run back of house to front drain, then i put rods in at side of house next to my utility room in house as sink had occasionally blocked rods and plunger got half way down...

buzzing noise is the sticking relay on the board, very annoying but can be lived with for now . no hot water is a most likely a faulty blender valve, something you cant live without !!!

pretty sure there are 2 relay pcb's on this model, may be wrong but had the same fault on a gledhill, is the buzzing like an alarm clock ?? if it is this is the fault I had, hard to test the pcb's though !! you may need to replace both.. approx 40 - 50 quid each though !! most common to go...

as DP says, i'd try this before anything else especially the venturi, take it out and clean thouroughly, blowing is not enough...

tony , deffo the pcb mate. move the pcb at the corner with the metal plate and it fire, theres a small crack in it!!

normally ok if you can blow through them, just make sure there no debri stuck inside it, i normally clean with a small screwdriver through every part of it... sounds a very strange fault if not the venturi, not really worked much on these boilers though

stu, not read though everything on the thread but have you tried taking out cleaning the venturi, also check for moisture in the aps tubes or small crakcs or splits ! this may have already been mentioned or checked though ?
