Insanely precise method of cutting-in required!

Good point about the spraying. I've actually got a tacklife sprayer I could use, if it can deal with the satinwood/eggshell paint

Insanely precise method of cutting-in required!

Hi all. I am painting some kitchen units in-situ. They sit alongside marble backsplash and countertops. I basically need a very precise method of cutting in; any tips beyond.... 1. Going slowly 2. Using an angled brush 3. V careful application of tape ...? Any advice very much appreciated!

How to tart up my gate?

Howdy. I like our arched iron side gate, but don't like that you can see through it (like in the picture). Anyone know of a solution which could be attached to stop people being able to see through? Like a privacy screen. I don't want to get a whole new gate as the structure is fine, and am...

Best method of removing multiple dead weeds

Hi all. Lots of little dead weeds on our driveway that need removing. Ordinarily I'd simply use a long-handled weed scraper, but the position of the bricks means I'd have to do a bazillion little scrapes to clean it all up. Is there a solution that would remove the dead weeds over a wide area...

    Felt roof leak

Turns out it's not the felt! I got up there and got these pictures. The water seems to be coming from a tear in the lead. The felt hasn't been 'turned over' correctly, and a divot where the tear is is causing... 1. The water to pool 2. It then runs through the crack I'm gonna get some...

    Felt roof leak

Cheers that's helpful. Is it best to bitumen the whole roof, or just the area that's likely compromised?

    Felt roof leak

Hi all In heavy rain we've got a leak from our flat felt-topped conservatory roof that first appeared a few weeks ago. Can't see any noticeable tears or rips in the felt, which lends me to think it's a small gap between the felt sheets into which pooled water is running through (see picture)...

Why won't nut 'catch' thread of rad valve?

Ah, that would make sense as no matter how much I squeeze them together, I can't seem to get a decent grip on the nut. Yeah I can cut the pipe a little bit at a time and see if that works. I assume you'd just use a ratchet cutter or one of the circular ones?

Why won't nut 'catch' thread of rad valve?

Hi all. Replacing old rad valves with TRVs. Two of them I'm struggling to get the nut on the pipe to 'catch' the threads of the new valve. It seems to be 1 or 2mm away from the threads, so can't screw it on. Anyone else know what to do in this scenario, please? I thought maybe the inside of...

3/4 to 1/2 inch reducers - are these required at both sides of radiators?

Thanks u, I had a similar thought re lifting it. The lifting thing might work on one or two of the rads, but some of the pipework is far too tight on the others. The new tails are about 1cm longer, and I don't think it'll be possible. I think replacement tails (with a very similar length) are...

3/4 to 1/2 inch reducers - are these required at both sides of radiators?

The problem with that is the pipework is a bit too tight and the new rad tails are longer than the old ones (see pic)!

3/4 to 1/2 inch reducers - are these required at both sides of radiators?

This (in red) is the 3/4 inch tail. The TRV only accepts a 1/2 inch/15mm connection. I was therefore going to buy this replacement reducer Old valve (highlighted in orange), for info

3/4 to 1/2 inch reducers - are these required at both sides of radiators?

Hi all Am installing TRVs. Some of the old rads need 3/4-to-1/2 inch tail 'reducers' to accommodate the 1/2 inch TRVs. Question is, do I also need to reduce the outlet/lockshield valve end, or can I maintain the 3/4 inch valve on that side of the rads? Thanks all!
