    I am not using the heating at the moment so I thought the pressure should stay the same but it seems using hot water makes the pressure fluctuate which I thought was unconnected to the heating pressure ?

    Just a little as well but then it rises to above what it was at before running the hot , then it drops again so its hard to judge if its still losing pressure as I don't know which is the correct reading , plus if I tap the glass it rises to where I set it to start with. Think I will just need...

    Yes , shows a drop in the morning before any hot water is used , the heating has not been on , just wondering why the pressure is fluctuating with heating off and only hot water in use , didn't think hot water use effected the pipework pressure in the system ?

    Thanks for the reply , am not sure what a diverter valve is? but if it is the cold water feed in then that's open , the boiler has an internal filler loop where I just pull down on a lever to fill , should something be closed off maybe ?

    End terrace house , the mains feeds 4 houses , mines is first in line and the guy who moved into the other end who is a plumber had to get a new feed straight from the main. Mains was tested and had no leaks so stuck with the low pressure . Tested flow and only getting 7 litres a minute...

    Have filled the system off the mains , only 2.5 bar of pressure though , leaving for an hour to see if it drops , already held up for 30 minutes so looking good . thanks all

    Copper tails yes apart from a couple that are dropped down from above in the wall which have plastic elbows .

    Hi , I have fitted 7 rads with speedfit pipes for new central heating , plumbers coming in a few weeks so want to pressure test before he arrives I have closed all valves to the Rads !? Is it Ok to test straight of the water mains, any pitfalls ? Thanks

    Insulate pipes?

    Hi all, Do I need to insulate all central heating pipes , I will be using Speedfit pipes and no pipes will be under floor downstairs so don't need frost protection but is it good practice to just insulate for heat loss?
