Had a small extension built with a new roof done in marley type interlocking tiles. When it pours ( as happens occasionally in Glasgow ) the rain water flows straight over guttering directly onto decking. The guttering is 115mm wide with the tiles overhanging between 75-85mm leaving only...
Iggifer, no, the fan keeps running with light off, currently 33mins and counting...... PBC 1966, the jobs done, plastered wall now decorated so adding another switch will be a big problem.....
Thanks for the reply, the only problem with independent control is the switch is over 2.2m from the ground meaning my DW or older children cant reach it to switch fan on prior to showering.
Guys,
Had a new extension put on in the summer and now have a few points of snagging for the builder to deal with at a meeting next week.
Can I ask how the extractor fan ( basic not timer humidstat model) in the newly formed bathroom should be switched on? At present it is operated on a on/off...
I'm having a 4 door Patio Sliding door set of overall 7m x 2.1m fitted in new extension. Approx. 75m from the doors is a relatively busy urban road. After trawling the internet and speaking to various door manufacturers about suitable sound insulating performance for the glass I'm more confused...
drgl- the extension is approx. 6m wide x 9m long with a 7mx2.1m wall of sliding glass doors providing the natural light. One end is the linear kitchen units and kitchen island, in the middle the dining area and at the other end a living space with large L shaped sofa. The ceiling is 2.63m high...
Guys thanks for the responses. I've already been told by builder that management fee for the trades is already included in the original price and nothing is added to subbies quotes for this purpose.
alan333, thanks for reply. the example I've shown is how my builder plans to charge this. He seemed genuinely surprised when I advised that this was not a good deal for me. Is this how it would normally be charged?
ELFImpudence, thanks for your reply, the builder has already ruled out allowing subby to bill me directly, thus my feeling a management fee is included. Any tips on how I should take this forward with builder?
Looking for some wise heads to advise if I've got this all wrong on VAT.
Using a builder on extension build and have been advised that he subcontracts plumbing and electrics ( all VAT registered )
For example subby quotes builders £2500 plus VAT =£3000, builder then charges me £3000 plus...
Adam 151- I assumed that the self employed sparky would bill the builder say £2500 plus vat = £3000 total. The builder then bills me £3000 plus vat = £3600 so I pay £1100 Vat on this job. Clearly this is not something I usually deal with so any help explaining this would be appreciated.
