    hello thanks for your kind reply, building work has been done today, it looks great, they have replaced the bottom iron lip, and all the broken bits, but the lip is now below the damp proof and I am a bit worried, I don't like saying any thing. the guy is being paid tomorrow, its not my house...

    hi quick question, when they do the side of the house (gable end) rendered should the plaster cover the damp proof course, and does it matter? in this case the render covers the damp proof but does not go all the way to the floor, there is about 15 cm. thanks.
