Concrete floor and DPC height changes

Didnt think so. I wanted to use sand and cement render. I cant take any photos at the moment as its all covered up with a dpm sheet so my house doesn't flood. The vertical insulation should be level with the top of concrete though? WUNDA UFH provide their own thermal bridge for the perimeter...

    Just how bad is this?

Had a carpenter round last night to look at the flat roof. He was also less than impressed. Said he would have to work on the steel to get it flat and fill in all the empty mortar joints before putting the timber against the house. Him and the brickie are hopefully going to take both steels...

    Just how bad is this?

Would any you be willing to pay 5+ man days for "supply and installation of steel"? BC say the steel is structurally sound. Not sure how the wall above it isn't considered.

    Just how bad is this?

Ah the choc block !! That was me, I had to quickly split the cable while they were working. Its only for the "kitchen" light which will be replaced when the sparkie can actually start work.

    Just how bad is this?

I had to, they were about to start block work above DPC. The white cables were on sale in the 70's I believe.

    Just how bad is this?

The builders who started my extension have left the steel like the pictures below. Initially they installed the two steels together so the inner skin only sat on less 20mm of the steel. When I asked why i was given the old "That will be ok, it aint going nowhere". The joists were sat in the...

Radon Barrier, DPC, and DPM. Is this right?

Hi I thought about cutting, joining and adjusting radon so in the wall nibs to the side of the bifolds it was as the first part of this thread, but under the bi folds it goes horizontally across the filled in cavity.... But securing the bifolds to the floor would mean putting concrete screws...

Is there a way i can fill in the cavity infront of the bifolds so the floor goes to the external skin? Thanks

Radon Barrier, DPC, and DPM. Is this right?

thats my point in a round about way..... Radon barrier is essential for a house in a radon area, and must be through both skins or BC wont sign it off. The other sides, ah we won't worry about them. I'll seal/stick the radon barrier to the existing walls just above concrete. Thanks

Radon Barrier, DPC, and DPM. Is this right?

under the plasterboard then OK thanks ill check out Celotex Thermaclass Cavity Wall 21 Ok thanks. WIll be a pain folding at least one of my internal corners. I can understand the idea of a radon barrier. All good when the room has 4 external sides like a tiny house, lol. When two sides are...

Radon Barrier, DPC, and DPM. Is this right?

@freddiemercurystwin Good spot. 20mm Celotex added to diagram between radon and DPM at concrete slab level. @Charlie George What would a suitable full fill waterproof insulation be please? And answers to my initial questions are: Does it matter if 100mm DPC is on top of or below 600mm...

Radon Barrier, DPC, and DPM. Is this right?

This is a perfectly valid way to lay a concrete floor to comply with building regs. I was asking about the positioning of the radon and the dpm when the walls are built. Cheers

Radon Barrier, DPC, and DPM. Is this right?

Hi, Could somebody please confirm my thoughts below: Does it matter if 100mm DPC is on top of or below 600mm DPC? (I suspect not. ) Is there any Celotex under the radon barrier? (Guessing no for some reason!) Does the DPM get sealed behind the dot and dab plasterboard up the internal...
