Problem solved! Fitted the control panel and it now works again. I am soooooo happy! My faith in Miele is well and truly restored. I now have a valid reason to stamp on slugs (just kidding!) :o) Chuffed!!!

Update: Just tried drying a pair of jeans on a 'Extra dry' cycle (with original NTC sensor) and they dried! The only other thing left to check is the electronic unit. Does that sound like a symptom of a faulty unit?
