:p Hehe .. understandable. They're going strong still, quite impressed with them so far and work a breeze with Alexa. Will be ordering one of each of the same for the lounge area, which is setup the same as this lot I replaced on the kitchen side... although, still need to think about that as we...

Wiring help for kitchen, slave and master (Lightwave)

Thanks! Beds are still being built! I'm thinking we should have just paid the £75 build fee for each... what a mission of note! I recon there must be over 1000 pieces per bed easily. But, we'll get there in the end I'm sure.

Hey all...!! It is done!!! Switches are installed and working well. Managed to fit it in late tonight even though I wasn't planning to, and after telling the wife I'll only get round to it the weekend. (Who would have thought a flat-pack bed would contain around 1000 pieces!? (And there's 2 to...

Ah right, I did see that. Sorry if I'm a bit dim here, I actually thought you were showing me the labels for how it was wired to the old switches  ... I'll have a look at that again in a bit. Right now I'm expected to sort the lights, while cooking, sort flat pack build out and get back to...

Wiring help for kitchen, slave and master (Lightwave)

Thanks again... Still in the process of working out what the final connections go where. But here's an updated PDF with page 2 showing the new switches with label points added for clarity. So far I'm thinking these connections: E to H 5 to N 2 to O <?> And... stuck :D .. needing to sort dinner...

Wiring help for kitchen, slave and master (Lightwave)

Ah, thanks... I did suspect that might be the case with those red wires. My big question now is which labelled wire should go where on the new switches? Wanting to be sure before I cable and power anything up. Tried calling LightwaveRF tech support, but it keeps answering with a message that...

Attached is a detailed PDF copy of the current wiring I traced out and tested. If that doesn't work, let me know. I've tried to be thorough and capture everything into one page. Hopefully I've not forgotten something and that it is clear enough to follow, if not please shout up and I'll adjust...

Ah, right.. Thanks, that makes sense. I don't think there is anything else int he way of the two as I'm sure I would have seen it. Was a bit worried it might be closed off in a wall or something :D Right... I've done some tracing and tests. I'll upload a PDF copy within the next 5 min.

Busy with it now. There's no other switch in between the 2 points that I'm aware of. Is it possible there might be one that could be overlooked?

Check - I've various multimeters, cable tracers scattered around. I've only used the cable tracers in network environments, but can't see why they won't work with normal cables. (Clue to my background is in my username :p ) My biggest downfall is being colourblind, but I manage around that...

I'm not sure myself TBH. When I fist looked into buying to try, that seemed to be the pair to match up. And I did find this now which use the same switches: https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/wiring-for-landing-light-lightwave.413336/ Hopefully the OP is still active and will see my msg there.

    Wiring for Landing light (Lightwave)

Hi.. very old post I know  ... but sounds like I've got the similar 2 switches you installed. Wondering if you remember how you wired yours up? I've a thread going here with all the details if you have the time to give it a look over.. and are still active on here of course...

Oh, trust me.. those are the instructions that came with each switch. Scanned them in myself  .. Think I've read each one over countless times trying to work it out. Even took a chance calling support today to see if they're the right match together. (Closed on weekends) ... their online...

Yeah I think you're right, will be easier to figure out like that ... I was thinking I might try that tomorrow. See if there is a way to trace if any run between the two points.

They said it would be easy, can be wired to your existing wires they said :ROFLMAO: ... looks like I'm going to have to give Lightwave tech support a call Monday! If it requires re-wiring, I think I'll just be returning the lot instead.

Yup, there is a short red used as an earth.. no idea why. The new switches don't require earth at least so those will just be removed.

We don't consider it a on/off work environment, especially one that needs 100% brightness for any use. :sneaky: It currently is partly dimmed via other means.. and when we need the light bright, we turn it up. If its just a quick pass through for whatever there is enough light for the need...

Wiring help for kitchen, slave and master (Lightwave)

Hi, Looking for guidance on replacing existing switches in our kitchen with some LightwaveRF ones I've bought. (LW420 Dimmer (2 gang) & a LW450 2-Way Dimmer (1 Gang)) It's a bit confusing as it uses a signal wire and if wired up incorrectly could kill the switches. Would it be a problem using...
