Thanks Mike. Just texted my plumber, he said it can't be that because system has been flushed and the radiator does get warm......the search will continue .....

...just quickly, if I turn that radiator off and the smack bang whallop gluck gluck still happens, am I right to assume that radiator may not have been the cause ?

Oh, thanks, tried that, doesn't stick. As to the radiator, one of them has got a patch pretty much randomly in the middle that is much colder than the rest of it PHOTO attached .

...just another question please how does one identify where the potential blockage is ? Like I said CH with HW all is quiet, all radiators are as warm as they should be and all is happy ....so, where on earth do I start ? Process of elimination ? If yes, how ? Thank you o_O

Thank you very much flameport, sorry the radiators aren't all boiling hot just when all TVR s are open after system got refilled and they get checked to see if air is trapped. Excuse my ignorance what does AAV stand for ? If it s the automatic air vent we have shut that to see if air comes in...

Thanks flameport, We tried the screwing down the airvent before, even replaced it because we had suspicions it was sucking air in....no change. I will try again though.Just not now, when I took photo earlier I noticed something....I have now got a slight leak where the system bypass was...

Thanks Pete, I will have a look. Although, the massive gurgle seems to originate around the 3 port valve travelling through the flow to the radiators...through them all ( incl downstairs ) ....can't hear it coming back to the return..plus any air that s left the autovent seems to let out...

Plumber tried a system bypass between flow and return put with manual valve in case didn't work so we could close. Well, it failed because the return was then so warm that the boiler didn't think it needed to heat anymore. If manually slowly opened at the start/ shutdown it avoids the gurgle but...

Hi Nige, Black cap has been loosened , thank you very much. If return gets closed and water runs solely through the CH that s when it goes loopies. Same when 3 port valve shuts HW off because desired temperature is reached.

Dear oilhead, 3 port valve was only changed again 2 weeks ago. Boiler flow temperature is down to 63 degree. Tried pump on 1, but boiler then sends error message and shuts itself off too hot. Tried all TRVs open too, no difference.

Dear oph, Thank you for the suggestion of an auto air vent .Funnily enough that ( after checking the wiring of timer 3 port valve ) was the next thing in the ' trial and error list ' . Excuse my ignorance, what do you mean by has the installer notified the boiler?

Hi, The previous boiler was a Gloworm approx 25 years old. New boiler installed 3 months ago, sealed 2 months ago via expansion tank.Problem started as soon as it was running with new boiler, but it took us ages to now narrow it down. I will post more pictures when I get home .I also got video...
