I did think of a dehumidifier, but have read that it would extract moisture out of the bricks, which in turn would then cause efflorescence etc? I'm satisfied to just minimise the damp that forms, and keep the room useable as a storage/workshop area. I might see if I can borrow a dehumidifier...

No window - there's steps up to the front door behind the external wall. The other chamber has a small window, but I don't leave it open for security reasons.
