    idiot query re underfloor heating

Ok - hopefully the spur is good and someone can just drill a hole through the wall and hang the rad (I can see why two people would be needed although I'd not considered it before). Probably be after Christmas now but at least I'm not going to have to get the tiles taken up and the slimline rads...

Thank you again, I will ask an electrician to come and have a look - finders crossed.

    idiot query re underfloor heating

Sounds good - i was thinking of something like this. http://www.bestheating.com/phoenix-flavia-chrome-electric-heated-towel-rail-1200mm-x-300mm.html I don't suppose you have any ball park idea of what an electrician might charge to fit this? Thank you so much for your help

    idiot query re underfloor heating

Hi There are three electric wall heaters (not storage I think), one in the bedroom and two in the living area - plus that one switch - no heating in kitchen or bathroom.

    idiot query re underfloor heating

Hi Here are photos of my fuse box. Does the choice between peak and off peak make a difference when choosing a heater?

Hello i'm really sorry to go when you are being so helpful but I have an appointment that I'm now late for - I've taken photos of the fuse box and will upload them this evening when I get back. Thank you for all your help

Sorry - didn't see your last reply - I'll look into the option of a tiny wall heater

    idiot query re underfloor heating

Well that's the mystery solved anyway thank you for your help. I'll have to get someone in to put some sort of heating in - I guess something over the door although I think they look a bit cheap. Do you know if UFH would have been suitable anyway baring in mind that the available floor space is...

    idiot query re underfloor heating

The bathroom is a rectangle with one corner taken off for the door, the bath with shower over takes up one full wall and the sink is opposite it - the toilet is opposite the door (the door is on the angles wall)

Thank you Sparkwright. I've had another look and there is only one set of wires - the brown seems to say OUT whilst the blue IN??

    idiot query re underfloor heating

I once worked as a carer for someone who had underfloor heating with just a switch like this one which also did not work, she had no thermostat either.

    idiot query re underfloor heating

Thank you I have taken off the plate and it is wired up - the wires go down through the wall but I can see where after that. I have no airing cupboard, the boiler is over the other side of the flat, I have kept the switch off mainly and nothing is not working but I did have it on for six hours...

    idiot query re underfloor heating

Thank you There really isn't anywhere for a towel rail to be put - the room is very very small. I've looked at the switch again and its got no old paint on it and it matches the other switches for heaters in the flat which are all nearly new. It is possible that they intended UFH but never then...

    idiot query re underfloor heating

Thank you Iggifer I am not renting and there are no other weird/redundant electrics; the place has been totally re done, new everything; it looks like its just been built. If no underfloor heating comes without a thermostat that does answer my question as there definitely isn't one of those...

    idiot query re underfloor heating

Hi I've just moved into a new flat with no apparent heating in the bathroom. It seems unlikely that there never was any as the whole flat was converted to a high standard 2 years ago and everything seems well designed. There is no space in the tiny bathroom for a wall heater but just outside the...
