    The pilot is on, but I'm not sure which little button you mean. Is it visible in the photograph? Or, what's it called? As I can then check the manual.

    The pilot has not gone out through whole process, I have pulled that grey knob fully up, programmer on, which resulted in a firing up noise. will check radiators again in ten minutes. Thanks for the thoughts so far everyone

    I can't find anything else around the boiler or other parts shown in the pictures, the only other parts I can see are another bigger, black water tank next to the one shown, and the room thermostat dial

    The whole system looks a bit patchy tbh. I get the general feeling the landlord isn't terribly keen to bust a lot of money on it... definitely some bad design features here. For eg, shower on/off switch seems to be hidden in the walls somewhere, if there is one that is!
