Circulating water in house without boiler being on.

Right sorry I miss understood, I thought you meant by rise that the heat would move up faster through the house with the doors closed rather than, a room down stairs will rise in temperature faster if the door is closed. That make complete sense to me, and we do infact keep the door closed down...

Thank you for the interesting thoughts, is that right that heat from down stairs will rise faster if the doors are closed? It is pretty open plan downstairs however we do close the doors so the stairs are isolated. Orginally I had hoped to see if there as a way I could redistribute some of the...

It does not need to, either the heating is on the aux pump will be on, and the motorised valve will be closed, or the heating is off, the motorized valve is open and the aux pump may or may not be running. Should the boiler need to shut water in the CH system it still can at all times.

Dan suggested I should connect them in parallel, I thought it was a bad idea for the reasons I stated, i suggested doing things in series. How would you suggest I boost the head pressure of my system? I thought having a pump in series that supports a 18 meter head should do the trick.

No, as I will have an interlock so when ever the aux pump is off the bypass always opens. So should the boiler pump activate, it can send water around the bypass, it will just have a short 14 meter circuit.

Pump by oolon posted 12 May 2016 at 9:58 PM From my understanding Dan just suggested that I should connect a pump in parellel with the boiler across the flow and return. Dan is incorrect in stating that a pump in parellel would not increase the flow presure should the Boiler and Pump both be on...

I do well understand that Dan which is why have no intention of installing a pump how you suggested because it is a very bad idea for the reason I already stated, and if you had read what I had said about connecting the pump in series with the boiler you would have realised that how I am...

Well I may well do something with a fan an ducting however currently there is a problem with the flow to be fixed and I am having a loft extension done in a bit when I could arrange such things. As to painting the radiators black, don't think I will be doing that as "radiators" radiate very...

I really don't understand the reason you feel it necessary to continue to try to put me down. Yes I first considered this, however I was concerned that when the boiler is off it the secondary pump would produce a back pressure through the the boiler, like wise when the pump is off and boiler is...

I have a valient combi boiler* so no hot water S or Y tank going on, All my pipework from under the ground floor is terminated above ground in a plumbing cupboard, no feeds are take off the boiler before this point and all the returns are also here. I didn't wish to have a magnetic filter...

Dan are you able to answer my questions about boilers or not? Is it safe to leave them just turned off and bypassed, or do I need to fully isolate them with valves, that is all I wish to know.

My house currently is 38 degrees upstairs, and 22 down.... Your assuming the heat is all generated enviromentally. Its not currently my computing equipment immits its heat into the room air, its very easy for me to change that, using say water cooling. Why just vent heat outside I could effectly...

Circulating water in house without boiler being on.

I really not interested in critics of why I wanted to do things. You say it will not work, which is clearly incorrect, it will transfer energy from one place to another, its the question of how effective that is, you may feel the experiment its not worthwhile however I don't, and wish to try...

From the top story of the house in summer (its 3 stories) and possibly solar panels at a later date. Downstairs is a little cold, up stairs is very hot, I would love to just even things out a bit.

Circulating water in house without boiler being on.

I wish to be able to circulate the water in my central heating system without the boiler being turned on (so I can use the under floor heating system as a heat dump). My question is do I need to need to isolate the boiler so the secondary pump does not force water into it. Or its it just fine...
