It's not worth bothering - at least the original joe-90 used to get skills added to his memory. One last try "Nothing to do with passports" "the man in immigration" anyone, ANYONE help joe-90 out with a connection here please. Does anyone else think that "the man in immigration" may have a work...

Joe-90 logic at its best. Every pub I've ever been in the landlord asks me for my passport - NOT.

    tiling on hardboard?

You shouldn't. It will probably crack or come loose in a few months. You should overboard the floor with 12mm WBP ply screwed at 200mm centres then tile with a suitable adhesive.

    Stiff Monobloc Kitchen Tap

You would be best off if you could identify the tap then go back to the manufacturer. If that fails, and you like doing jigsaws, try identifying it here: http://www.lunns.net/

If anyone is still interested, particularly Softus as I was trying to find some details earlier, I have now found these from the RLA: http://www.rla.org.uk/rla.exe?input=../rla/scrp/rpi/rpi_00d01j_landlord.htm It looks like the landlord didn't have Gas Safety Certificates and hadn't...

Been away for 4 hours and joe-90 still hasn't answered my question. Looks like my assumption was correct. joe-90 - your local education authority almost certainly do adult literacy courses which may help your problem to some extent, but I don't think they teach comprehension, just literacy...

Tell you what - I'll stop going off topic on here and only post something relevant to the original post. You can answer the questions I asked you otherwise I'll assume you know nothing about the subject and were just pretending you did. A bit like gas work.

I like the way you lump all of one profession into the category "bone-head". If I was working on a property that needed a gas pipe capping I would get in a CORGI fitter I know to do it. It may seem strange to penny pinching bodge merchants, but I prefer to have work done properly. Am I short...

Being able to solder a pipe so that it doesn't leak is NOT competence to work on gas installations. I can solder pipes so that they don't leak. I have been able to do so for about 30 years. IT DOES NOT MAKE ME COMPETENT WITH GAS. Does not leaving any live wires sticking out anywhere make an...

I really can't think of a proper reply quickly at present but that argument is along the lines of because someone drove back from the pub while bladdered but they didn't hit anything or anyone they were competent to drive.

Being pedantic that was strictly logically correct wasn't it? :D In future I intend to renovate to sell not to rent out, although I am now considering Holiday Lets.

I'll keep it brief: joe-90 - you remind me of someone who made various posts in Screwfix says how clever he was with all his properties and how he had fitted his own boiler etc. He even went on to post a link to a portfolio of photographs of his work. After numerous faults, building regulation...
