Towel rail leaking from top joint

I think I'll have to as I can't budge it. Given the pressure it must have been designed to withstand I don't think there's going to be much chance of pulling it off.

Towel rail leaking from top joint

Yeah I wound the valves in to isolate it and the dripping has eased off. When you say depressurise it, is that just by opening up the bleed valve?

Towel rail leaking from top joint

Yeah its an allen key for the grub screws. I tried tightening them (they were fairly loose) but that actually made it worse - it was only leaking on one side before, now its on both!

Towel rail leaking from top joint

It was already in when I bought the house so no idea where its from or anything unfortunately!

Towel rail leaking from top joint

Hi I've got a traditional style towel radiator which is leaking from a joint at the top where the rail bit fixes to the main body. I'd always assumed it was all one piece but on closer inspection I can see a little grub screw on each side so it seems the rail part is detachable. I had a go at...

DHW flow rates - Intergas HRE 36/40

Yeah just checked that and its about 1.5l for the Xtreme. It also modulates lower but I don't really know how much of a benefit that is.

DHW flow rates - Intergas HRE 36/40

Thanks @Mr Chibs. I have been quoted £1950 to remove the Alpha and install the HRE 36/40. £250 more if I want the Eco RF.

DHW flow rates - Intergas HRE 36/40

@Razor900 have you any experience with the Xtreme model? If I went the combi route wouldn't this be worth considering other the Eco RF? I appreciate the warranty is shorter but the DHW output is greater, according to the spec at least. Seems to gain from recovering waste heat from the flue gas...

DHW flow rates - Intergas HRE 36/40

Yeah thats what i thought and have asked the proposer why he didn't suggest the Eco RF. I've got 10 rads, all double panel double fin. I measured them all today and going off this website: http://www.simplifydiy.com/plumbing-and-heating/radiators/power reckons about 21kW

Great both. @muggles I'm in Derby

DHW flow rates - Intergas HRE 36/40

Dan, I've been reading all the posts I can find on the Eco RF + Joule setup you recommended. Would any Platinum Intergas installer be able to set this up correctly with a Nest or is this a bit of a specialist setup (pin 5?)? Is worth considering ditching the Nest and going for the Intergas...

DHW flow rates - Intergas HRE 36/40

Thanks for your input guys. I do have space for a cylinder, just waiting for the quotes to come. Be interested to hear an update from you Mr Chibs once you've had the opportunity to properly test the new boiler!

DHW flow rates - Intergas HRE 36/40

Thanks for your reply. I can see how the performance may end up being similar if the pipe work wasn't up to the task, but if it is up to the task then doesn't physics say that a larger power input will give you a larger maximum flow rate for the same temperature rise? I see you're very...

DHW flow rates - Intergas HRE 36/40

Hi, I'm looking for a new boiler as my Alpha CB50 Combi is leaking from the DHW storage cylinder and its apparently prohibitively expensive to repair. I find the Alpha fine in terms of CH output and DHW - the manual rates it at 28 kW for both. The guy that services my boiler recommended a...

    Can't reset Eurosec CP8L

Hi, Yes it is a Eurosec CP8L. I ended up getting an engineer in who pulled a fuse from the panel and re-programmed the keypad. Seems the code left by the previous owner was not correct! Thanks

    Can't reset Eurosec CP8L

Hi, I'm having a similar problem. I moved into my new house a couple of months ago and went to try the alarm today. I followed the instructions left by the previous owner and set the alarm using the 'quick' key. However upon entering the property the code left by the previous owner did not...
