I am opening up a fireplace that had been bricked up. It's a 1964 house. Stupid question, but have I excavated the fireplace enough? I'm not sure if I have got to the base, and also it seems very shallow - it is only 13cm deep. Is that possible, or is there more cement to be removed? Please see...

I would like to fit a device to clean the CH system, ie Spirotrap MB3 or similar. But the accessible pipework is all 15mm. Can I just fit a coupler to take the 15mm pipe out to 22mm, fit the Spirotrap and then another coupler the other side? [I have already drained and cleaned the system as best...
