Thanks for the diagram. I can see why it's not safe. It pays to be careful to switch off the breaker even if one is changing bulbs.

This is a very old thread. Anyway, can anybody help post a diagram of the 'third way' of wiring a 2 way switch that is unsafe? I read the above but don't quite understand why it's unsafe. Thanks.
