Grundfos Secondary HW Circulation Pump Head Replacment - Non Bronze Head

Yes, galvanic corrosion is my concern. I was wondering about the potential effect of dissimilar metals as they are at different levels but close on the galvanic scale. Given that Grundfos replaces the Bronze Pump with the Stainless pump I thought they may have issued some guidance on changing...

Grundfos Secondary HW Circulation Pump Head Replacment - Non Bronze Head

Checked with Grundfos Support and they don’t supply the Bronze 15-50 B 130 pumps any more. Now replaced by the Stainless 15-50 N 130. Anybody know if it’s OK to put a Stainless Pump Head on the Bronze Body ?

Grundfos Secondary HW Circulation Pump Head Replacment - Non Bronze Head

I have a Secondary HW Circulation Pump - Grundfos UPS 15-50 B 130 Bronze Selectric, the pump has failed. I also have a spare brand new Non Bronze UPS 15-50 130 in the garage. Can I replace the Bronze Pump Head with the Head of the Non Bronze ? Mechanically / electrically it’s a straight swap...

Is there a way to check Actual Modulation Level on Vaillant EcoTEC 630 ?

Hi, I have the ecoTEC plus 630 (VU 306/5-5 R2). I have the VR65 for DHW, but am using a NEST for UFH controls with the Boiler Flow set at 55 degrees. As flow temp increases towards 55, modulation increase (goes lower) but even when at 55 flow (d.40) for some time, the boiler is still running...

Vaillant heat only boiler + switched live thermostats + weather comp?

Blending valve is working perfectly with the input being reduced some of the return flow, but you still can’t force too much heat in to the floor and risk an overheated floor surface. 50 really is the max flow to the floor, Return flow is currently 46 so only 4 to 5 degrees drop within the floor.

Vaillant heat only boiler + switched live thermostats + weather comp?

My mixing valve that blends Return flow with Feed Flow, is still too High temp for the floor so I need to further reduce flow to about 50, but then 50 is insufficient for the Upper floor Radiators to warm the rooms. The upstairs rads emit best at about 65 degree. Since my last post, I’ve...

    Vailant VR61 or alternative?

Hi Richie, Can you share your solution ? Did you go with the VR61 and if so how is it configured ?

Vaillant heat only boiler + switched live thermostats + weather comp?

Just picking up on this thread again. I’m wondering how to best address a situation with 2 Separate Domestic Heating Zones (on Nest Switched Live) as well as the HW Cyl - DH1 - Underfloor Heating - 50 degree Target Flow - 10kw - DH2 - Radiators Upstairs - ideally 65 degree Min Target Flow -...

Moving an outside light higher in wall

I cleaned the mortar as there was some algae growth around the old light. That old PIR was a motion sensor for something else. There are no PIR’s connected to these lights.

Moving an outside light higher in wall

It’s not a PIR light, just standard Up/Downlight. There are 6 lights all connected via a switch to the circuit in the garage. I just want to move this one to the same height as the one opposite this one, so it’s symmetrical.

Moving an outside light higher in wall

There are no kitchen cabinets on the other side. Just plasterboard wall

Moving an outside light higher in wall

I’m trying to avoid having surface fittings otherwise they will just be illuminated by the light which defeats the purpose of brick surface up/down lights.

Moving an outside light higher in wall

Hi all, I have a pair of outside lights on the house exterior Brick walls either side of my drive at first floor level. One lights is 5 bricks lower in height than the other light. I’ve replaced the lights with Up/Down wall lights and its now more obvious that they are mounted different heights...

UFH - Free Design Software ?

Yes, the PEX is marked but no lengths written on them. If I can redraw the layout of the spiral pattern within a room dimension, I can calculate the flow length Plus the run out distance.

UFH - Free Design Software ?

I have an existing 20+ year old UFH install but don’t have the original designs or design Flow Rates per circuit. I have measured up the rooms and using thermal camera can see the circuit spacing is approx 150mm in Spiral layout. I’ve flushed all the loops and cleaned all the flow meters, but...

VR65/VR66 for HW flow temp control

Aha. Many thanks. Based on how I have it wired now, The DHW fires up with the right hand CYL terminal of the VR65 terminal and No connection from the Nest to the Boiler Switched Live RT (3, 4)

VR65/VR66 for HW flow temp control

One clarification, Do you also leave a Switched Live control for the DHW to the Boiler RT Terminal in addition to having the VR65 CYL Terminal switching to set the right eBUSS Temp/kW ? At the moment I have removed the Switched live from the Boiler RT, but am thinking of adding it back. Mostly...

VR65/VR66 for HW flow temp control

Thanks to this thread I’ve just installed a VR65 in to my S-Plan 3 Zone Nest Controlled system with Vaillant ecoTEC 630 Primary boiler. I disconnected the DHW Zone Valve Microswitch Yellow wire from the Switched Live RT of the boiler and connected it to the VR65 CYL Normally Open Terminal. I...
