Is it ok to mix exterior masonary paints to get right shade?

I got some ‘Yellow Sandstone” coloured masonry paint today and applied it but it seems a bit too dark. Is it ok if I mix some white masonary paint into some of the sandstone yellow paint to get the desired shade? They are both waterbased paints but of different makes.

Is it ok to use emulsion as a primer on bare wood before gloss?

Hi I’m going to paint the inside of my new shed white. Is it ok to use white emulsion paint on the new bare wood before I apply either gloss or matt gloss? It’s quite a large surface area and I’ve got a lot of emulsion paint to spare. What are the advantages of wood primer compared to emulsion...

Is it Creosote or creosote substitute?

Hi I know traditional creosote has been banned in Britain since about 2003, but I remember buying a can of wood preserver actually labelled as ‘creosote’ around 2006 in a discount DIY store. I had never used it myself until now. It smells awful quite strong. I know it’s not Creocote as it smells...

Lidls once in a while stocks some kind of Parkside tool, drills, dremels, etc but they are only ever in stock for a very short time and they don't restock them for 12 months or so. How can a tool manufacturer stay in business like this? Do they only manufacture the tool for a short time before...
