Thnaks ChrisR. I haven't checked then coils yet . Need to get hold of a multimeter. However, the engineer did try a replacement DV when he came but the problem remained. Also. I can see the shaft moving in the hole on the DV. Does this all suggest that it's the pcb at fault. Thanks peebe
