If it's a simple as it sounds..would you get a builder in or try it yourself? Trying to keep costs down as everything has gone into buying the house. There's carpet in living room and laminate in dining so we would recarpet while thing after anyway.

We are buying a house that orginally had a through lounge diner. The current owners filled it in but I've been advised the original archway is still underneath. Will this be easy to remove and can we do it ourselves? ( Dad is a handyman) There is now giving and a dado rail up. Thanks in advance
