Intergas Xtreme manual As such, yes, you can keep your Hive and have weather compensation without any issues and save some £££s.

New combi - do I need weather comp or stick with Hive?

You need a T6R, it’s the same thing as the T6, but wireless ;) Good little stats, not the prettiest IMO, but reliable and because it’s Honeywell, the OpenTherm is pretty coded to perfection unlike some manufacturer’s grasps of the protocol. Personally, I’d go Nest and OpenThern, but that’s...

Repressurising Greenstar 24i junior condensing combi boiler

As @martyndc88 said, you need to join the two red circled pipes together with a filling loop (silver braided hose) to fill the boiler. Hopefully the hose is tucked on top of the boiler or somewhere where you can get to it. You will need a spanner to undertake the job. @dannymassive the one...

    Faulty thermostat

If it’s a Bosch boiler, then yes, technically it falls into the realm of a gas safe engineer. Personally, if you can send the thing back, I would and get the heating engineer to install you a non-integrated clock/stat, may cost a bit more, but means you don’t have this issue in the future and...

Turn water off at this boiler

The two blue valves in the yellow circles are your filling loop. Don’t forget the inhibitor ;)

Before you buy, make sure you actually check the exact model installed. Not all installs are straight forward ;)

Turn water off at this boiler

That’s a combi, to drain the radiators, just connect a hose and go. No need to faff around with the boiler until it comes to filling her back up again. If you are modifying hot water pipework, then I’ll guess you are doing cold water as well and as such, just shut the house stop cock.

Potterton Powermax HE - Remote Programmer (Nest)

Should have started your own thread in all honesty. But the white box you refer to is the HeatLink and comes with the Nest 3rd Generation, it is not available as an official spare. Please check you have bought the right product and have not bought the US Nest (This is not compatible and has...

    Ignition Electrode fault.

Sorry chief, this is a step away from the toolbox moment and get someone in. As you point out, ignition faults can be wide and varied. They are also indicative of some more serious issues. Honestly, time to phone someone with the right tools to check the problem out.

Vaillant Ecotec Pro 28 Anti Cycling and Other Issues

I cannot provide advice inside the boiler casing. The front panel on your model is not decorative I’m afraid.

Vaillant Ecotec Pro 28 Anti Cycling and Other Issues

Yeah sorry, the world of Salus, good when they work. Compare the price of them with some of their more reliable competitors and you see why they break. The relay box should make an audible click when it’s status changes from off to on and vice versa. If you are happy with electrics, POWER...

Vaillant Ecotec Pro 28 Anti Cycling and Other Issues

So there is a chance that the instinct unit is not wired right. On instinct receiver (Same as a Salus RT520 I think??) set the slider to manual and off. Hopefully this will turn the heating off.

Vaillant Ecotec Pro 28 Anti Cycling and Other Issues

So yes, it can as the Vaillant VRc stuff uses the Vaillant eBus. To be honest, if you don’t have the room unit, you need to unclip the receiver. You don’t need to take the boiler apart to do this, just a good, strong and small tipped screwdriver to lever the middle receiver unit out of the...

Vaillant Ecotec Pro 28 Anti Cycling and Other Issues

That would be the receiver unit. The receiver needs to be paired with the room unit. When you get in post back with what model controller it is and whether it is showing any messages.

Vaillant Ecotec Pro 28 Anti Cycling and Other Issues

Do you know what model it is? I know the VRC430f unit will be static red on the boiler display if it has lost communication with the room unit.... Low batteries, too far away, etc.... But I thought the room unit also threw an error up at you. May be worth getting someone in to remove the thing...

Help required in wiring of a new digital Central heating timer control

You really need to rewire your heating system into a junction box, most modern controls are not big enough to have that many wires in them. Looking at a wiring diagram for the 423 Coral, looks like this is configured for gravity type systems and I am guessing you do not have a room thermostat...
