Thank you for replying, it did strike me as odd that he wanted to do his own EICR first. My understanding is that they could follow the recomendations made in the EICR and that they would have to test and certify the new CU after installation anyway?

The original pipe was fitted before the kitchen was installed going behind the cabinets. I can't see an easy way to get a new pipe in there in one piece. I think the best bet is to also add some more clips and supports to remove any dips and improve flow.

Thank you for the detailed reply. We've had an EICR done, it took the electrician around 2 hours. I believe the biggest culprits for earth leakage are freezers, washers, dishwashers, and kettles.

Isn't that what they would mean by certificate on completion? The elctrician is registered with NAPIT.

The quote is for a new consumer unit replacement, main earthing CPC, upgrade incoming tails and certificate on completion.
