    Another Suprima 50 problem

i followed chris's advice and un-plugged the thermistor. guess what? it works. the gas fires up  . i also measured the resistance of the thermistor and it reads 850kohm which is within the range that chris gave me. now, since the thermistor seems ok, can i assume that the pcb is the...

    Another Suprima 50 problem

i have a suprima 50 for 8 years and like the most of us i used to have the lockouts problem. i managed to get rid of them by re-soldering the PCB. everything worked fine up until a few weeks ago when the boiler simply wouldn't 'heat' (not sure what the exact term is  ) as if the water was...

    expansion vessel pressure

thanks guys, the boiler is a potterton suprima50 and the upstairs rads are under 12feet up from the boiler. However some hot pipes go right up to the attic, which would be around 14feet from the boiler. Is there any recommended pressure in the vessel for this type of systems? Thanks in advance G.

    Pump very hot

Hi JohnD- the house is about 8 years old. i'm not sure whether there's an inhibitor. the colour of the water is yellowish with a strong smell of chemical though... unfortunately i can't track the warmth down the pipes as all pipes are hidden behind the plasterboards. i'm gonna try balance the...

    Pump very hot

Blushy- my pump is set to the fastest speed and the noise isn't a problem. maybe you should try turning the pump manually. You shouldn't feel too much resistance or hear any noise. turn off the boiler, unscrew the black cap in the middle of the pump until you feel the impeller spinning.if it...

    Pump very hot

i tried that. it seems like downstairs rad are a bit warmer but they are still far from being as hot as upstairs, and still unevenly warm...the control valve is warm but the lockshield valve isn't. One more thing...I noticed that all lockshield valves are completely open. is that the way they...
