Wall design for rear extension to maximise space

It's a fair comment about that particular extension, which does look stuck on - I just googled it up. Our house, as I say, is a victorian townhouse and we think it'll look a lot better than that. We might struggle to blend in unless you can recommend someone who works in ashlar limestone...

Wall design for rear extension to maximise space

Well the end results will be something like this (just not glazed at the sides) and I genuinely haven't seen anything on the market along those lines aside from the oak firms. Wouldn't want it to be all aluminium frames and if its external structural timber that means oak, pretty much? If you...

Wall design for rear extension to maximise space

Well, the idea is to have the whole end glazed and I haven't seen any architects or builders offering that kind of thing, except the oak firms. It won't be very expensive, under 15k (because they're only really doing the end and the cross member) and will look really nice, we've seen one and my...

Wall design for rear extension to maximise space

^Woody^ as I say, the neighbour's walls are monopitched and only about 3m (on one side, the other side is only a 2m lean-to) so we'd struggle to build off them. We could change our design to monopitch as well but then we'd have to either shorten the extension or lose headroom at the end - would...

Wall design for rear extension to maximise space

Hi Getting an extension planned out and need some advice on how to get the most of the available space. I live in a terraced townhouse which 4200mm across (narrow innit) and want to put a 4m oak framed garden room on the back with a pitched roof. Story time... We're hemmed in by neighbours...

Free Video Compression programs. Any suggestions?

Depending on how big it is and what format it's in, Iamchamps could well be right - just upload it. If it's really really big or in a format that Vimeo or Yt don't like then you should convert it to x264 or similar first. If you want to edit it (chop bits out, usually a good idea) then either...

Only 4m square and it's in chalk soil so probably 1m deep trench. So not all that much!

Free Video Compression programs. Any suggestions?

What are you trying to do? Convert a file, capture desktop, or something else? I could probably start you off. The difficulty might be with having a CLI rather than a GUI but you get used to it and it's actually way more flexible.

Through the back neighbour's garden. They're fairly big bits but apparently they can be carried manually for 50m. I think getting rid of the spoil is just a question of time and people, surely it can't be that hard to hire some labourers? We have been looking around, unfortunately anything...

PTS2 - yeah I've started thinking about just doing the groundwork myself but never done it before so would rather hire at least one experienced person for a few days. I was told it's possible to pump concrete 50 yards or more, barrowing might be an issue because the garden has a bit of a slope...

    Builders not interested

Hi, currently trying to find a builder for a 4x4, single storey extension in south Hampshire but having trouble getting anyone to do the work. What we're trying to do is get an oak-framed garden room put up and so we've got a design and build company doing the planning and will make and...
