Combi boiler not working properly and won't repressurise

Hi there, I have a Worcester Bosch Greenstar 42CDi natural gas combi boiler that was installed 5 years ago and has always perfectly. However yesterday morning we noticed it wasn't heating the hot tap water. It's also worth noting that we've only just this week turned the heating on after the...

Low inlet gas pressure - Worcester Greenstar 42CDI bolier

Calm down chaps! Anyway... quick update: the gas fitter came back round and said the same as Gasguru, ie that the standing pressure doesn't mean anything and that I should be entitled to use my (large) domestic boiler. The plan of action is to get Transco back round to test the working gas...

Low inlet gas pressure - Worcester Greenstar 42CDI bolier

Gasguru - sorry misread above - I think the 14mb was at the meter rather than boiler, but I'm not 100% sure. Cheers

Low inlet gas pressure - Worcester Greenstar 42CDI bolier

In response to various questions above: The boiler is right next to the gas meter and has all new 22mm pipe work (would switching to 28mm help?) The only other appliance is the cooker and that's in the next room. The governor was replaced by Transco but this didn't seem to help. The...

Low inlet gas pressure - Worcester Greenstar 42CDI bolier

Cheers Dan & Bambergaspipe, Dan's actually right though - the 14mb was when the boiler's running full whack and the 30mb was the standing pressure, so I don't think my gas fitter's wrong in that respect. However, it does seem that the boiler I've got is way bigger than I need - I didn't realise...

Low inlet gas pressure - Worcester Greenstar 42CDI bolier

I've just had a Worcester Bosch Greenstar 42CDI combi boiler installed (replacing my old traditional system). The problem we've got is that the gas fitter (who's Corgi registered etc) only measures 14 mb of gas pressure at the meter - he needs 18mb in order to commission the boiler. We called...

Electric shower - low pressure = no hot water - why??

I've got a Triton Bezique electric shower that's fed off the cold water supply. Very occassionally the warning light saying 'low pressure' comes on and the shower does not heat the water - I've checked the manual and it says this will happen. Fine. I've got two questions however: 1) Why does...

    Blocked soil pipe

We're generally pretty godd at not putting stuff down the sink but occasionally the odd bit of food ends up going down there, although I can't see how this can block a 4 inch pipe. (I've had a closer look and it definitely is the main soil stack that's blocked). We're just about to try the sink...

    Blocked soil pipe

The toilet's on a seperate soil pipe that is thankfully OK.. The sinks and bath all go seperately into the soil stack which is why I think it must be that that is blocked.

    Blocked soil pipe

The 4 inch pipe that serves my bathroom and kitchen appears to be blocked as any time we drain the sink in the kitchen / bathroom it backs up into the bath (as this is the lowest point this makes sense if the soil pipe is blocked). As I live on the top (third floor) of a block of flats and would...

    Overheating boiler / pump

Just to let you know, it's all working now - the F&E tank float valve was indeed jammed and also we managed to unblock the pipe from the boiler into the tank by blowing down a length of hose into the pipe which dislodged whatever was in the way. We know have a fully functioning central heating...

    Overheating boiler / pump

Cheers for that. I think the pump is working actually. Also, you were right, the pipe making the noise does indeed go up to the F&E tank. Another quick question: how full should the F&E tank be? I had a look last night and it's almost empty - would filling it up a bit help at all?

    Overheating boiler / pump

I\\\'ve had several problems with my central heating / hot water system since switching the CH back on when the cold weather started this year, most of which I\\\'ve solved but I\\\'m now stuck and would like some help... To cut a long story short, I\\\'ve successfully replaced the programmer...
